Photos from 2008 Event by Joern Rohde The Ken Quon Memorial “Ride On” Team Challenge, Family Ride and Après Barbeque Fund raiser will be held on Sunday August 9th 2009, - 11:00 am (sign-in from 9:30 am) at the Riverside RV Resort and Campground for the Start/Finish/BBQ. The event will take place over the roads and trails in the vicinity of Lost Lake with an entry donation and is designed to be for all ages and abilities. This fund raiser provides an opportunity for the Whistler cycling community and others who were connected to, or touched by Ken, a chance to contribute back to Whistler’s emergency services. A fund has been created in Ken’s name that will help purchase items that will assist the emergency services (Ambulance, Fire Dept. and Whistler Clinic) in addressing the emergency needs of Whistler residents and visitors. Over the course of the previous 3 events, the fund has equipped 3 of Whistler and Pemberton's ambulance vehicles with Welch Allyn Propaq® Encore patient monitors. This is a portable system that can be easily brought to a patient and stay with them to provide state-of-the-art monitoring all the way to medical care. These have proved invaluable in the active environment presented in the Sea to Sky corridor.
